When Writing Letters
Refer to other sources for inspiration but use your own wording as far as possible. An MP will take a letter much more seriously if they haven't read the same thing before.
Don't use abusive language, no matter how passionately you believe in this issue. If we get angry we lose the ability to make our point.
The ideal situation is to leave a letter you've written for a day or so and then come back to it. The break will help you see if it all makes sense.
Don't forget to check your spelling and be especially careful to spell the name of the recipient correctly.
When Encouraging Two Others
Try to choose two friends who don't know each other very well so we can spread our tentacles wider.
Don't bully or otherwise hassle people. Some of your friends will have very good reasons for not getting involved. Try and respect that.
Explain what the benefit will be. Why should people write these letters?
